if you go on google search 'bob geldof gif' you should get some pics then click on it and when the page comes up click on the pic at the top of the page and you shud get a large one on a blank page.copy the url into the avatar box in your profile

About the guy who died - you think he was a Rats member? I don't believe any Rats have died yet so perhaps it was another close friend of Bob's (the only Rat close to him now anyway is Pete the bass player...).

Hi I met Bob at the Ludlow Festival. I had to go out last night so sorry I didn't write back. I presume it must be just a close friend of Bob's who lived near me. He's such a warm friendly person. Is your name Kath? as written on your profile thingy. I live on the Shropshire wales border. It was cool to hear you lived near by. I wanted to get to know other Bob fans and U2 fans, as my friends don't really appreciate them the same way that I do!! jpg images sometimes dont work.it wouldnt work on mine or on other active board forums.try a gif image instead.

Cheers for the info. However, I've tried gif, jpeg and jpg and it says it won't support any of them. I guess E.T. will have to do, though he's not quite as sexy!

Without going into too many technical details, when you link an image from another site like this, the site you "borrow" from has to pay for the usage of that image (the technical term is "bandwidth") that you are using on your site or a forum. This practice is considered as stealing and very much frowned upon on the Internet. The reason you might have problems is that the people you're borrowing the picture from might be trying to stop you from doing it.

There are several free hosting sites on the Net, so the best thing to do is to copy the picture you like, and host it somewhere else for yourself and link to your own Internet space. Of course this might be a tad too technical for some

ETA: I googled a bit and found this very easy hosting site to use called www.imageshippers.com. I've uploaded the picture you liked. Here's the link:
