Elton John is performing at a venue 10 minutes walk away from my home next June. I can't believe it!
And I've got tickets. This will be my third time seeing him live. First - was at Wembley in a double bill with Eric Clapton and second was at Live8. My seats/view are much closer and more central than the other two occasions
My season of all good music continues on into next year.

Next June? So that greedy git has got his paws on your ca$h for at least six months. I'm off to see Bloc Party tonight, got the ticket back in March! (but they were only £19, how much is Elton fleecing you for? £60 or more?)
I saw him at that double bill with Eric. Cost me nowt! I used to get a few freebies at Wembley. Glad I didn't pay as he didn't even play Candle in the Wind.
Still not as bad as Cliff Richard. He has put tickets on sale for his November concerts. November 2006.
BTW I do like Elton (well up until about Too Low for Zero, though he had a few shockers on the way)
Good going Jules.not a big elton fan myself.bloc party should be awesome arrgee.my mate went to see them last friday.she had a great time and she got to meet them at a signing a while back.their a very cool band
I've paid £40 plus booking fee for the privilege of seeing Elton. Not too bad. I think the most expensive seats were £60.00, but we missed out on those.
Cliff Richard - you aren't thinking of going to see him, please don't tell me that.
I'm not into Bloc Party so wouldn't pay £19 to see them
I can't remember how much the tickets were at Wembly. Did you have good seats? We were way back on the left hand side.

err, £19 too much to see Bloc Party. Avoid.
I stood @ Wembley to see Elton/Eric would have been on the penalty spot in front of the stage.
And just to annoy you ( that's my thing!) I did see U2 there as well on their Zooropa tour. Cost me nowt, but I still feel I was done. Had front row seats on upper tier on U2's RHS of the stage
Also got freebies for Queen(twice), Madonna, Bowie, Wings, Dire Straits, ELO, Gary Numan, Police , Boomtown Rats (how about that!) ...... ( and probably a few more I can't call to mind)
Lately, I'd been thinking I should finally get around to seeing 'ol Elton before both of us are dead. But I saw him on a TV show a week or two ago, and his voice seems to have gone. As a general matter, can he still sing? Was it one bad night or is it bad every night?
Maybe it was just one bad note (she says hoping). He sounded fine at Live8, as far as I can remember. I'll let you know at the end of June.
ArrGee I'm extremely jealous of practically all of those freebies. Why did I never see the Police?!!
My sister managed one freebie, she saw Level 42 as her friend worked for their accountants. They sat in the Royal Box! But not me I've never had any good connections

As some of you may remember, I've a special relationship with Elton - just the name of course! lol
I like Elton John's music but have never seen him live.
One anecdote: One of my kids' favourite tv themes is "Bob the builder". The Bob the builder Christmas Film tells us the story behind the name Elton John and the song Crocodile Rock. Towards the end of the film, as a big finale, you get the song performed live and sung by an animated Elton John (the early Bob the builder animations were done by the same artist who did Wallace and Gromit, I think). It's hilarious, I've watched it many times with the children. Can't wait til xmas time!
