Simon Crowe and Pete Briquette co wrote a song for Tracy Ullman in 1979.

I knew about this song but have not heard it until now and there is certainly an obvious Rats influence. The song to me sounds very good and does no harm to the reputation of either Simon or Pete.  I presume they had a hand in the  lyrics also.

There seems to be more than one recording but this version sounds better to me

They actually wrote it for Kirsty MacColl.  It was her second single on Stiff.  However it never got released.  I bought a triple CD to get it.  Fortunately I like Kirsty MacColl.

Glaring obvious mistake on my part- I should have said Kirsty Mccoll.

The reason why I credited Tracy Ullman was that Diffbrook mentioned that the Rats might have performed Up All Night on her show Three of a Kind, and I scoured the Internet (as you do) to see if there was any more information on this alleged appearance. Frantic searching for Rats Ullman info got Tracy stuck in my mind.

I had intented to link to the Kirsty McColl/Crowe/ Briqutte song in  a subsequent post and when I did wrongly credited the song to TU rather than KM after all that prior searching.

Did Pete and Simon play on that track btw?
