Currently listening to a live version of Wind Chill Factor Minus Zero as part of the above show currently on BBC Radio 6. Exceptionally good.

It was a great gig, got it on vinyl, shame it can't be downloaded to be put on cd.

Dave McHale was superb on Having My Picture Taken.

I saw them on tour in '81, '83 and '85 and Never in a Million Years, House on Fire and Having My Picture Taken are songs I have never heard played live before and which came across superbly, as you say Ian in no small part due to Dave's performances. NIAMY sounded faster, with improved harmonies and an elongated introduction and more pronounced bassline - and all the better for it. It never ceases to amaze (and delight me) how you think you've heard it all, yet how many gems are still to be discovered.

Really love the bit on Wind Chill Factor that goes: 'Do you believe (no) in anything at all?/ Do you agree (no) with anything at all? and the music  that immediately follows these lines.

Always like a bit of nihalism is my music!

WCFMZ is one of my favourite tracks from TFAOS. The central bit you describe is awesome. This is true of so many of the songs on TFAOS:

Guitar break on Having my picture taken

Suicide-reaction query on Sleep

Spanish-style guitar break on When the night comes

Sing-along Harry Hooper bridge in Nothing happened today

Organ/guitar mix on SLAY

For years, I would play this and hear new things each time, it's that incredibly good in construction.

Lends itself fairly well to this skydiving clip  too imho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYaOyS2KIxk albeit truncated slightly to fit the film.

Check out http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/ as BTR informed us of about a year ago when this was broadcast.  You can get a decent copy using this.

Only shame is they have broadcast the same concert twice in a year. Would be nice if they broadcast some of the other gigs, particularly Glastonbury.
