Selling old cd's was always a good stand by, when short of a few bob, but nowadays you'd be lucky to get a tiny fraction of their true value. unless you sell in a specialist show, with staff that know their music, it is a waste of time and money.

I think the old t shirt slogan 'Music is Dead' is coming true.

I'd give them away to charity shops, if I wasn't so possessive. Must admit I think my collection is due a bit of a pruning, especially as I have a few editions of some CDs (needless to say, all my copies of A Tonic for the Troops will all be kept).

I don't know about music but rock in the UK is more or less dead. Only Coldplay & Noel Gallagher had decent album sales last year. Even the bigger bands like Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian didn't make big sales in comparison to, ahem, Olly Murs and Michael Buble. Even worse, not one rock act had a big selling single.
