Will a full DVD concert of the Isle of Wight Festival be released?

They will probably appear on TV at some point and you will hear them on Absolute Radio for sure. I wonder if Cork would be the best and most appropriate place for an official BTR DVD.

I doubt it, but the TV coverage can be good. Sadly, Pulp weren't shown in 2011 due to contractual issues, but I can't imagine that would be the case for the Rats, and it will all be on the free to air Sky Arts HD. BBC do Glastonbury & Reading very well.

Chagford sounds good, shame about it not being a week later during school hols, could have made a holiday of it then. Sounds like a nice venue.

I've just fully committed by booking a room at the Travelodge, Whiddon Down. Not bad value, £47 on night of gig, and very close to venue. I might travel over a bit early and see some of the famous West Country. Must say I have a soft spot for the West of England accent. Hope someone calls me 'my lover' in a deep Devon accent!

Most likely it will be pouring down, and the field will resemble The Somme so you won't need to worry about your hair too much. I am going to Chagford gig and was thinking last night about the possibility of bad weather,and having to bring wellies etc.

But it's a bit too early to worry too much about the weather. Ideally it will be warm, about 20 celcius, with no rain. Wouldn't want the Rats comeback to be spoilt by the weather but there are some things we cannot control.

Ditto. None of these family festivals seem to work for me because of school. Last time, the school play, this time a week early. I thought school was bad when I went there, but with two kids going to different schools with different vacation dates, it's still messing me up...
Only 10 more years...

Not long ago going to see the Rats with Geldof, Briqutte, Crowe and Roberts playing together would have been a pipe dream. It was going to be a pretty dull year on the forum. Geldof won't let the fans down, he's too much of a showman, and is fully prepared to get stuck in in anything he commits to. I have really good instincts about how the band will perform- maybe it's wish fulfilment, but we won't be disappointed.

I'm free to come and go as I please, but I understand that some have family commitments and getting out to gigs is a luxury no matter how much you may wish to go. Anyway for me it's an excuse to go to the West Country, something I have never really gotten around to, and seeing the Rats makes it a 'must do'.

If there are good reports from Oz, Cork and maybe some warm up gigs then that might sway you a bit to get on down to Devon, but sometimes family takes priority.Luckily there were still rooms at the Travelodge Whiddon Down- I though it would have been booked out, and the prospect of staying in some village on Dartmoor with all those werewolves loomed.
