Having seen Geldof perform a stunning version of this live with his own band. I would love to hear the Boomtown Rats perform it live. Please play. It is superb

The Boomtown Rats version is a lot better.  I'd even go as far as saying it is better than the original.  Will definitely be played at forthcoming dates.

Still can't believe that we can look up at the band   and see Geldof, Briquette, Crowe and Roberts on stage. Takes a bit of getting used to. Interestingly Geldof said after the band reformed, that he would not have felt happy to say, go see the Stones play their songs, without all the original members performing them. He would have felt a bit cheated.

Being pedantic, they haven't had all the originals since 1969.  3 out of 5 ain't so bad though.   Darren is the Ronnie Wood of the Rats. There is still the possibility that there could be a full Rats reunion at some point.  I'd say it is highly unlikely, but then again I never thought Geldof would do a full set of Rats songs again.

It's possible that Palace could win the Champions League too

It's even possible Arsenal could.   Likewise Manchester City who just 15 years ago were in the third division and sneaked out via the play offs.

Fifteen years ago no one could foresee  that Manchester City would win the title, Chelsea would win the European Cup and The Boomtown Rats would play live within the space of 12 months.  Not even me smile

Don't want to get too heavy but to me the most unlikely thing of all is 'avuncular' old Stuart Hall being put in prison. Years of listening to him do his football reports on the radio BBC 2 , then 5 live. Some things just take you completely by surprise....

The close season in football this year is the most interesting in years. Joe Kinnear just seems to be getting madder by the day.

He always has been, it's only now the rest of the world see it...
