Ha ha. Talk about writing total twaddle. Never seen so much cr@p. the theatre was filled with energy and electricity, emanating from the stage.

I didn't see the Daily Mail review; but I assume it was very bad from what you say

I honestly throught the atmosphere was amazing; the place was packed, you could see people everywhere up standing, clapping along. The area I was in had so many singing along to the songs, just a very excitable buzz. I felt it was a brilliant concert - the sound mix was excellent, loud without being distorted. The rhythm section of Pete and Simon was absolutely sroching all night; and the sound mix allowed us to hear all the nuances.

Overall, very exciting, everyone I saw had a smile on their face and the atmosphere was one of the best of any gig I've been to! And the songs...good god, the songs.. what a catalogue of wonderful songs this band have!

There was one live concert recorded in the Netherlands for Dutch tv. Also someone says the full concert from Toyko 1980 was around some years ago, but seems very hard to find. The clip of Diamond Smiles on YouTube was recorded in Tokyo, so presumably they recorded the whole gig?

You have to remember that it is just the opinion of that particular journalist, who has her or his own opinions and tastes in music. But it's an interesting idea that a newspaper might have a particular taste in music.

The write up had nothing to do with music. To paraphrase, it was about a dismayed audience looking at a frail old man jerking around on stage. The Daily Muck have their own agenda. It's the worst of the rags.

They were slagging off poor Kylie too - ah, maybe I really should have a re-think about reading it! Trouble is, when I first got it, I mis-read the title, thought it said the Daily Male and was thinking it was some sort of magazine for an escort agency

What a disappointment! Mind you, reckon if Bob was on the books, I could have a go at reviving him and putting a spring back in his step ... The suit might have to go though ...

It could have been worse though - they could have written about a dismayed band looking at a frail old bunch of fogies in the audience!

However, I do seem to remember Bob turning the spotlight on some poor guy in the audience at IOW and bascially saying that he'd have no chance of getting laid, looking like that ... Personally I don't like any form of slagging people off/bullying/gladiator style behaviour. Think we should all just wear daisies in our hair and have a nice group hug and be nice to each other.

I was surprised and disappointed that the press reports (from all papers) didn't cover how the Rats took the IOW festival by storm - but hey, everybody had a great time. It is gutting when something you enjoy/take a pride in doesn't get mass public acclaim, but that's why it's so great to have this forum where we can all act like proud parents!

Looking at a frail bunch of old foggiest in the audience would have been more accurate
