If they ever decide to do it,  it will look nothing like this.  I stuck to the big acts/songs.  Not sure all were UK hits, particularly Ramones and New York Dolls, but they are well known songs.  Maybe cheating a little with the first four as they are sixties bands.

So for those that don't like Boney M on their compilations...

CD1

  1. Lola - Kinks
  2. Let It Be - The Beatles
  3. Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones
  4. Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
  5. Ballroom Blitz - Sweet
  6. C'mon Feel the Noise - Slade
  7. Get It on - T. Rex
  8. This Town Ain't Big Enough - Sparks

  15. Stay With Me - The Faces
  16. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
  17. Make Me Smile - Steve Harley
  18. School's Out - Alice Cooper
  19. Can The Can - Suzi Quatro
  20. American Pie - Don McLean

CD2

Shes So Modern 'namechecks' the decade and  is perhaps less obvious than Rat Trap. Did you include Hotel California? Heard this the other day and despite not particularly being an Eagles fan I have to say it's a classic, great lyrics: 'She's got the Mercedes bends....'

Another great seventies song, which I have just heard recently is Suite:Judy Blue Eyes by Crosby, Stills and Nash. More obscure than most of the songs you have listed, but I tend to go for less well known tracks, rather than the more predictable songs that everybody knows. Shadow Captain by CSN is excellent too. Whatever about Nigel why not go for Life Begins at The Hop or Radios in Motion by XTC.smile

ps the third cd you include includes lots of songs released in the early eighties if I'm not mistaken? Wasn't Sugarhill Gang around 1980?

I suppose I chose the obvious as that's what now compilations do. Maybe Hotel California could be added. Sure I missed a few others.

Actually all of them hit the charts in the seventies, or at the very least were released in 1979.
