I don't think I've ever heard SoS live,  so can't believe it had an airing at Kings. The question that remains to be asked is what exactly was it that the reviewer really heard?

Can't get to the link I'm afraid, even with the offending letters reinserted.

Definitely didn't play Skin on Skin though.

I did think I might have heard it on V Deep tour, but no real recollection so perhaps not.

What was the story here then?

Wasn't just a convoluted snakeskin suit reference was it?

SIR Bob Geldof stole the show at a charity gig performing with the  performances since the sad death of his daughter Peaches Geldof, the Irish singer-songwriter joined fellow Boomtown Rats, Simon Crowe, Garry Roberts and Pete Briquette once again to dazzle fans not only with his unusual costume choice but with a sterling performance bursting with energy.

Fans crowded to the front of the Main Stage, borrowed on route to this years Glastonbury Festival, at the Rock Against Cancer Concert at the Kings in All Cannings, a small village in Wiltshire, to see final act of the evening perform their greatest loved hits.

Songs played included Skin on Skin, during which Sir Bob shed his self-declared mega snake skin jacket and launched straight into Shes so modern and a memorable performance of the controversial Banana Republic, the writing of which resulted in the Boomtown Rats being banned from performing in their own country.

The undoubted highlights were the performance of the much loved I Dont Like Mondays with the crowd joining in and singing their hearts out with every chorus and the energetic finale, Rat Trap.

Screaming fans managed to call the Boomtown Rats back on stage for a double encore leaving them in no doubt to who they had been watching as spectators left with the chant The Boomtown Rats ringing in their ears.

Andrew Marshall, was at the one-day festival he said: It was a brilliant afternoon rounded off with a top performance from the Boomtown Rats.

Thanks guys. Not sure why link failed for me.

All I can say is either there was another night (which there wasn't) or this is just tosh.

Did the usual She's Gonna Do you in, break for breath and suit introduction, then talked about the suit and Garry's trousers getting it on together before opening chords of Someone's Looking.

History rewriting itself....

Shame they didn't play it though, one of my preferred V Deep tracks and really can't remember if they played it on that tour. Anyone?
