What is the fcuking point of it? Same two teams make the final every time. And can anyone hand on heart truly support the European Union aside from the bureaucrats in Brussels? Ranks alongside the boat race in pointlessness.

Golf just bores me rigid. Any proper sport you at least need to break a sweat.
But then what is the point of Capital One Cup/Carling Cup? Though for some reason it seems to throw up some very competitive games. And interest from the fans.
I was actually is Brussels last week visiting relations and it was very nice, the city that is , rather than the ' institution'. There was a fantastic record shop which stocked mainly vinyl, and it had a brilliant back catalogue, almost anything you could wish for on vinyl. Yes I checked and they had the Rats debut, Surfacing and Mondo Bongo. It was just beside the old Beurs Stock Exchange building.
Brussels is a great place to visit. Beer, chocolates, chips and mussels. What's not to like?
No point to the League Cup. Just for reserve teams. The fans interest normally comes from the cheap tickets. £10 for a game at Highbury.
There may be no point in the League Cup but it throws up some brilliant games. My team Middlesbrough (don't ask, it's a long story) lost 14-13 on penalties to Liverpool last night. Unbelievable, to borrow a cliche, You can't really say both sides were not trying and that it didn't matter. How Boro just kept hitting the back of the net I cannot say, and their goal keeper was a young rookie too.
Maybe it's a bit like gigs, sometimes when there is low expectation we get surprises, not just in terms of results but in performances too.
Both sets of players had to take 2 penalties each. Maybe all the Boro team could be drafted in for the World Cup.
