Well if this article has any truth Bob and Bono clashed over the lack of black artists issue. I guess whatever they said in private they'd stick together in public:

you can't blame bob for cutting down on black artist really.lets face it a lot of popular black artists are rappers who think theyre hard.i'm not being racist or anything else because i will say that its the samw for a large amount of white american kids who think they can rap.i mean just look at what happened with snoop dogg.disastor, he could have really ruined it.told not to swear and it turns out half of his lyrics were the word f#*#.why would you do that?hmm?why?

The criticism was that the event was for Africa and Africa wasn't represented, and this was racist. I can see the point, but I know that Bob is far from racist. He explained his reasoning and he got results - can't argue with that.

I'd agree with that. Bob knew what he had to do & unfortunately sacrifices had to be made. The important thing is the outcome..

African music is far from rap, although there are indeed some African rappers. Somehow "black artists" for some people is the same as rap. At any rate, everything seems to have turned out well and whatever differences Bob and Bono had in private, they have done a superb job helping Africa. I'm glad they're around!!

Both Bono and Bob are individuals with strong opinions and ideas of their. It is unsurprising that they might have clashed during the organisation of Live8! However, they are good friends, and ultimately have the same goal (making a difference for Africa) so will stick together in the public face.

No African music isn't just rap. There are some brilliant artists out there, but largely unsung - so to speak!

Exactly! These 2 (Bono & Sir Bob) each have keen feelings about what's right and overall, everything they do works out for the best. I look forward to their future endeavors as well.
