Very important warning!

i don't know if i can post this here but ...

This is not a joke!

Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such
As Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on.
This information arrived this morning direct from both Microsoft
and Norton.
Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet. You
may
receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation Life
is
beautiful." If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES,

and delete it immediately. If you open this file, a message will appear on

your screen saying: "It is too late  now, your life is no longer beautiful."

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent
it
to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password. This
is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has

already confirmed the severity, and none of the anti-virus software's are

capable of destroying it. The virus has been  created by a hacker who calls

himself "life owner."

It's best to check these things out before sending them on. I've done this before and my IT friends have then emailed me back, rather unimpressed with me - spreading this stuff around is nearly as bad as sending viruses

I haven't looked, but if you go on the microsoft website, they tend to state whether or not it is a hoax.

This seems to be a hoax:

If you receive warnings like the mail you posted, check if it's "real" or a hoax. I googled hoax and database, there are lots of security and hoax warning sites. One is this:

http://www.f-secure.com/hoaxes/hoax_new.shtml (don't know who does it or how reliable it is, but there are plenty more.)

Generally it is best not to open mails and especially and most importantly no attachments you get from people you don't know! Viruses etc can even be in mails from people you do know, again: especially in attachments!, so if you're not expecting an attachment, it's wise to check with the friend what's in the attachment.

Also make sure you have a good virus scanner which is updated regularly!
