I'm glad to say I've no idea what you're talking about, because that rubbish never makes it to my TV screen .

Mine either/neither.  I must be getting so old but if I can help it I have nothing to do with this, Bake Off, Celebrity GMOOH, The Voice or Britain's Got Talent. Or Big Brother.

When will these shows die as a genre?

I will confess /admit /confirm Gogglebox is growing on me.

On his TV company. IT was, according to him, the first of the reality TV genre.

I quite enjoyed Survivor when it came out - it was years ago wasn't it? I think the first series was the one with "Charlotte the Harlot" in it! I thought it was quite interesting watching all the people politics - I know I wouldn't last 5 minutes keeping up with all the skulduggery and working out everybody's agenda! Did BG also do the Castaway series - on Taransay? That was quite good too. But apart from occasionally watching MasterChef I don't watch any of the X Factor, Celebrity type programmes. Don't know where people find the time actually!

I've no idea either!I only watch history or science documentaries largely, and some football. Good quality factual programmes sometimes, but most tv is for the birds.

Yeah I was aware of possibly being misconstrued when I wrote that, but I like the phrase.

Bin the footie and add soaps instead then that's pretty good telly. Bin channel 5 altogether

How quaint watching channels!   20th century throwback.

The last time I watched TV as it was broadcast, I was mightily pi$$3d off that I couldn't fast forward through the advertisements.   I generally just set Tivo to record everything and watch it later unless I am watching Amazon Prime/Now TV/Netflix/Sky on Demand where there are no advertisements.  I just got the festive Radio Times and programmed the Tivo accordingly over the weekend.
