A case of quality over quantity this year for me. Not one bad show. But ranked as follows (though all of them were at least 9/10)
Mon 28/10/2019 Damned London Palladium ; Quite possibly the greatest concert ever. Front row seats with 2,000 audience members dressed as vampires, Dave Vanian going full Nosferatu for the second act, and a circus show integrated into it all. And like last year Bela Lugosi's Dead for good measure at Halloween. So immersive, I felt I was in the show!
Sat 25/05/2019 All Points East Victoria Park ; Somewhat diminishing returns through the day but Jarvis in the tent was superb, followed by a great set by Interpol, and only spoiled at the end by the poor sound for The Strokes
Mon 29/07/2019 Tom Robinson Scala ; The original TRB except for the late Danny Kustow for whom this was a fundraiser in his honour. Power in The Darkness in its entirety plus.
Fri 08/11/2019 Squeeze + Heaven 17 Indigo at The O2 ; Surprising how many songs I knew from Heaven 17, but highlight was Temptation. Squeeze played greatest hits set which was as usual quite brilliant.
Sat 30/11/2019 From The Jam + Vapors Indigo at The O2 ; Vapors with highlights of first two albums in an abridged set that left you wanting more. From The Jam playing arguably the best Jam album (Setting Sons) in he first half followed by an acoustic interlude before all the big hits. Russell Hastings a very good Weller substitute. Oldest mosh pit ever.
Sat 06/07/2019 The Who/Imelda May/Kaiser Chiefs Wembley Stadium ; The Who with an orchestra and impressive short sets from Imelda May and The Kaiser Chiefs. Shame about Eddie Vedder's limp acoustic set. Only problem is it was Wembley Stadium and The Who were dim distant specks from my front row seat in the upper tier. Oh and an acoustic Won't Get Fooled Again. Trust that will never happen again.
Great review, thanks for putting together. I have a soft spot for Sheffield music from the early 80s, particularly liked Come Live with Me and Crushed by the Wheels of Industry. Squeeze are a class act too. Some Fantastic Place is the number one of the 90s that never was and means a lot to me like music sometimes can.
Black Coffee in Bed (extended outro with band solos)
Hourglass from the late 80s deserved to go top 10. Just been listening to the best of Echo and the Bunnymen. Their class song of 87, The Game, managed 28 or thereabouts, a travesty. It's was their Elephants Graveyard moment. I suppose all bands have them.

Must admit I had forgotten almost everything Heaven 17 did except Temptation, but I knew every song they played. Fascist Groove Thing, Penthouse & Pavement, Crushed etc.. That written, my gig going buddy had seen them elsewhere and said it was better seeing the abridged support set than the full elongated set.
