My heart skipped a beat when I saw the headline to this topic. I really hope that Bob gets everything sorted & gets back on track.. They still have it on the .info to contact them if you were at milan gig or going to Rome. What happened there Reka & Jules, Did ye get refunds?

I am sure he will still play Festivals, rather than solo gigs. He seems to be quite successful at these and enjoys them. Much less risky.

I don't see how he can afford to. Keeping a band together costs money. As does employing a, ahem, tour manager and other entourage. Festivals don't pay big bucks. And if you're not promoting an album, what is there to gain? And Geldof isn't a good enough musician to accompany himself.

45 in Italy, 36 in Denmark. They'd be decent chart positions, but not decent attendances in venues that hold thousands. Geldof only likes the big parade and only wanted be adored. In 78 he knew he had it made, but he never loved....

I vaguely remember there being talk of an album release for November... I haven't heard anything on this in a while so its probably not going to happen...

About another album... he says there is "no rush" . "Something is starting to happen inside his head, there is something there, but will only do a new album when there is something new to say" From him in reply to my question in the Independent.

I may be wrong, but I think ,apart from Pete, they are jobbing musicians who he only hires when he needs them. They do lots of work with other people, especially Brian and Vince.

Our tickets were free, we both won them on Eddy's website. I had tried to buy them through TicketOne, but the tickets were never available outside Italy, before Eddy did a competition. There is supposed to be a free gig in Milan to compensate, but am having serious doubts as to whether it will go ahead.

Anyway, what about Germany, Spain, Malta etc? The other concerts earlier this year. None of these were cancelled and they had good reviews. Why do the Denmark/Italy sagas have to outshadow these?

OK we agree the prices are too high, the venues are too big, but given the 'right conditions' (as Bob put it) he could sell out smaller venues. Some festivals, some smaller venues and he could do it, no cancellations. The band together are brilliant. There is no need for it to be the end. As everyone says new management and publicists could do it for him.
