Anyone remember Bob's milk ad?

I was browsing another forum and came across a couple of people asking about these. I cannot for the life of me remember them. I wonder if you can download them? They would be really fun to see.

Another sound album from Jan Hammer. An album that was deleted in the early 90s. One that I have been trying to obtain on CD at record fairs around the country. And thank god it is available through Amazon. Tracks include the one from the milk adverts staring Bob Geldof and his dog running around London Battersea power station I think?? The tracks on the album are a mixture of uptempo and slow so a little bit for everyone really. A good album to have as extension from the escape from television album which contained mostly tracks from the Miami Vice series. If you are into music by such persons as Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk etc Jan Hammer's work is a must.

I think the dog in question would probably be his Yorkie, Growler, who was around at Live Aid time.

I'd completely forgotten about that ad, until I read our post Scottie!

I remember I saw one of them when I was in England at that time - it wasn't on German tv, we don't have milkmen. I don't really remember much of it, for example I'd forgotten about the dog... There was something about running... jogging? Running after the milkman? I wish I remembered more... From I've found now, it must have been part of a campaign to stop the decline in sales of milk delivered by the milkman, and if the "Irish Examiner" is correct, the tv ad was from 1988:

"In 1988, he was earning £80,000 from a series of milk ads, but by then, the foundations of an altogether more significant commercial career had been laid with the establishment of Planet Pictures in 1986."

I found the video on youtube It is a part of a film featuring 1980's ads.

Bob isnn't jogging he is playing on his guitar didn't have any insperation so he gets out a bottle of..... milk.

I think he did more than one. That must be Growler, the Yorkshire Terrier who ate Mick Jagger's breakfast and used to ride around in the basket of his bicycle and was taken to see Mrs Thatcher. Poor wee thing ended up in the vet's freezer.

You know, I wonder if he did one of those print ads in the US with the "Got Milk" milk mustache too? I thought I remembered one in the mid-1980s, but I could be wrong. Does anyone else remember those.
