An album idea for Bob

Probably not exactly original but...

He could write songs with his pal the great and adorable Bono
OK if he won't do a duet with him () they can divide the songs up between them and sing them separately.

It would be fun for him to work with his friend and also a good marketing exercise. The U2 fanbase is not exactly tiny and the genre is not so different that a huge number of fans wouldn't like it.

And we get some new music into the bargain. How fantastic would that be?

I think a recording of one of his concerts would be the best.

I think geldof is in a crisis.

Maybe he can't write songs anymore. It happens with musicians sometimes.

It would be a good way for him to get to a new audience (who already like music not too dissimilar) and he could have fun doing it.

I think he needs to do something like this first.

There are some great ideas for Geldof albums, but he wouldn't bother if he's only going to sell small numbers of each. It wouldn't be worth his while recording such a variety of things. If he did this first, he could get out there and show the world how brilliant he is (again) at music. Sales would be huge for sure, he'd have loads of fun making it. And most of all, Bob and Bono are my 2 favourite singer/songwriters so it would please me immensely .

Once he's done this there would be enough interest in him to do all the other stuff and sell out to the big crowds he needs to at gigs. Genius! LOL But would he listen? Probably not!

I personally would love a life album/dvd.. But it is time for some new music too.. At least we have U218 next week, only two new songs but at least Bono is giving us a taste of new music..

Bob and U2 have recorded a song together. It was done back in 1986 in L A for the DITHON album but Bob decided not to use it.I wrote to Bob and told him to put it on a future Best Of(should there ever be one) and release it as a single to promot the album.

A live album with an introduction by bob before every song.

What was that song? I'd love to know more about it... So Bob did once do a duet with Bono, but what made him get cold feet? He can hold his own.

If you look at the release dates of the other solo albums, you'll see there wasn't an album between 1992 and 2001 (or 1994, if you count Loudmouth). Of course I'd love a release tomorrow... but it might just take some time. It's not that unusual that there are some years between recordings. And Bob does have some other things on his mind, too...

Generally, yes, something new would be good. Being me, of course I'd buy and cherish a compilation of whatever kind... ^^ And I'd simply have to get anything listenable that says Bono and Bob on the cover... I wouldn't mind some live recording either...

In terms of work, doing a live album would take less time to produce, as it has already been recorded. Milan would be a good one, as it includes interviews, which make for variety. It was also full so the atmosphere was good.

I'm still after some new material, but if time doesn't allow I'd settle, very happily for some recorded live material!

Not the Milan one. I saw the video and it wasn't good.

Maybe one from 2002 or 2003.
