IS That It changed this man's life

IRELAND -THE person charged with implementing the GAA's programme for Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) is a former milkman whose life took a profound turn after he read an extract from Bob Geldof's autobiography. Attracted to Geldof's work with the Simon Community, Brendan Murphy quit his job and began assisting the same voluntary organisation.

That was the start of a career that has led him through various spells working with the homeless and, later, on drugs and alcohol abuse projects both here and in Scotland. He was employed by the Western Health Board when the GAA approached him last year to head ASAP in response to concerns about a damaging youth drinking culture.

The article goes on tracking his work. I can put more up if you want. But is it not great that Bob's book inspired this man to change his life and do so much good?
