I will now confess to watching part of "Kept", MTVs new reality show starring Jerry Hall, last night. (Premise: Ms. Hall selects a kept man from among several young applicants.)
I'm not sure if what I saw was episode I or II, but Ms. Marine made an appearance. She's a physically beautiful woman, but this was just.....sad. Perhaps I've lost my sense of humor.
I hope Ali and Trudi (etc.) have more sense than to show up in this. We expect trash from Jerry (and that's fine, she's built a career on being trashy), but I wish she'd protect her friends by keeping them out of it.
Jeanne Marine comes off as the only really kind, sweet "rock star girlfriend" on Kept. She seems always to have a smile on her face, interacts with the young competitors on the show, and dresses really well -- lots of hats, cool clothes, etc. During the part of the weekly show where Jerry and her girlfriends decide which contestant should be eliminated, some of the comments can get quite nasty but Jeanne always says something positive about the guys -- last week she remarked that "it gets harder now, we get to know them, and they get to know each other ..." while the other girlfriends seemed content on ripping the guys apart. She has a French accent, brown eyes and shoulder-length blonde hair parted in the middle. She seems like a very calming presence. I love Jerry Hall, so to be able to see her, plus the bonus of Jeanne, on a weekly basis is lots of fun. Hopefully the show will be run in the UK if it isn't already so everyone can check it out!

From what I've read, Jeanne is a bimbo, but she is pretty and has stuck with Bob through a lot of mess in his life. No word on if the children like her or just tolerate her. Bob and Jeanne have been together just prior to Bob's divorce from Paula. Bob met Jeanne on the set of Brave Heart. She is in the film, however, Bob decided not to be. He had engagements he had to be involved in and could not get out of.
They are not married. Bob did dedicate his latest book on Africa to her, first, prior to all the four girls! He must love her.
SBG has commented in interviews that he doesn't need the government to sanction his love, plus 'Kept' refers to Jeanne as "Bob Geldof's Girlfriend", so that would mean to me no marriage. She does have expensive-looking rings on ring fingers of both hands. She is far too calming of a presence to be VH1's answer to Paula Abdul (Gawd, M-J plus I am sure she is not tempted to sleep with any of the men competing to be 'kept' (I'm fairly sure the majority of the men have no clue who Jerry Hall is, btw). Jeanne is barely featured in 'Kept'; however, she does not come off like a 'bimbo' at all. She doesn't seem like someone who would hog the spotlight or who yammers on just for the sake of being heard. Very likeable!
I just saw "Kept" for the first time last night. I agree - this is a "bit trashy" of a show! Oh well, what do you expect of a show with Jerry Hall running it? After all, she planned to marry Mick Jaggers - plotted and schemed - I hope she feels like she got what she wanted - $50 mil
I have read in a few articles regarding Sir Bob, comments on Ms. Jeanne. Most newswriters comments regarding Jeanne are "Not too bright", "Nothing to say", "Sits admirably next to Bob", etc. Makes me wonder if she is just keeping quiet as not to steal the "spotlight" or if she truly does not have much to say. I don't think I've ever read where she says anything bad about Bob - in fact, she sticks up for him. This is good news, as it should be! We all know how rough it has been for Bob in the past and he certainly needs some "lovin"
clap:
I agree, on "Kept" she does appear to be the only girlfriend who is sweet and kind with everyone - always something positive to say. However, she really does not offer much.
blankstare:
What about Pete Townsends girlfriend - does the word "bitch" come to mind
Actually, I think my original post was incorrect. I think the show is actually on VH1. And I don't know if it's being broadcast anywhere besides the USA. Sorry for any confusion.
At first glance, it seems as if the final episode is airing this afternoon, but it will repeat. Other, past episodes seem to be repeating in the near future as well.
So I would just like to say. I wish Bob and Jeanne the Best relationship,
And knowing what I do know about what I see (I am a very good at scanning a person, no other way to say that hehe). But I hope they can find a balance between their beliefs.
if she is hosting such programs and he host BBC programs, then we are defiantly speaking about two very different views. But then again opposites attract, right?

oh sorry I think that I misunderstood what you all where talking about. It sounded like a Reality show, where she was the 'speaker' (if this then is an alright word?) But Again I am so sorry.
And Again I just wish Every Man and Woman the Best time, in our breathing substance of our existence

The final episode was last week - Seth won. I think it was on VH1. I don't usually watch it either, but Jules peeked my interest when she said Bob's girlfriend was on it. I watched four episodes in a row! Yes, they will probably air them as re-runs soon. Trashy show, but interesting to see who Jerry picked
I wish Sir Bob happiness, too. Just not sure if he is really happy...he does not want to have a child with Jeanne as reported three years ago when she posed the question regarding getting pregnant; she was 36 at the time. It may be that Jeanne is doing all the work in the relationship, which is sad. She has put her personal life and career on hold to stay in the relationship. It may be what she wants... Only Bob and Jeanne would have that answer.
