Ever felt lonely at 2AM, with no one to talk to? No more! Meet Trivvie, our new Trivia Bot! With over 100 000 questions, Trivvie will keep you busy for hours at a time.
Q&A:
What the heck is a bot? A bot is a program that runs in chat. It can be made to interract with real people. In our case, Trivvie will ask you a question, give you hints, give you the answer, and compile scores.
Where do I find this new toy? Log on to the chatroom with the Java applet and chose "Triviality" in the channel list, or with an IRC client, join #triviality.
I went to the #triviality channel, and Trivvie is not there. What's going on? Trivvie run on my own personal computer. It's possible I forgot to turn it on, or I lost connection or power. Sorry about that. Please come back later. You might try to send me a PM, but if I'm at work I won't be able to fix it right away.
Does Trivvie know any Geldof or Rats related questions? Most likely not, but we can certainly teach him. If anyone has a substantial bank of Geldof or Rats Trivia, please PM me.
How do I play? Just jump in and answer the next question. You must give the exact answer. Check the hints for number of words and letters. DO NOT use the bold or color functions of the java applet. It creates hidden codes that will make Trivvie reject your answer.
Anything else important I shoud know? Trivvie will add points based on the name you use, so try to always use the same name. For example, if you start a game as MJ, and come back the next day as M-J, Trivvie will consider you as two different users.
How do I win? This game doesn't have a start or an end. Trivvie will keep on adding points as you win them, and will regularly display the top 3 and Top 10.
Can I play alone? Yes, you can.
But is that fair? It depends on your definition of fair.
awesome MJ did it take a lot of work to create Trivvie? and why Trivvie for the name? yes there's been many times where I come on and no one's there so I'll have fun with your new toy...heh

Actually it was no work at all since it's an already made program and Steve did all the installing. I might get to work adding some Geldof/Rats related trivia while on my vacation, but there's no time now! Trivvie is just its name, we didn't pick it. He's not sensitive about vulgarity, but he does get a bit preachy about it once in a while :)
