Again I prefer Rat Trap but both songs have become way too familiar so there's a feeling of having heard them maybe too often. I occasionally hear Rat Trap on the radio by accident when it just comes on like on a shop radio and am usually very impressed, as it always sounds good and fresh after all this time.

Rat Trap will always appeal to people unhappy with their lot even if the don't live in a tower block- its about unfulfilled potential as much as monetary poverty.

Lets see how many people respond and just state their choice- no long explanations necessary!

Also Rat Trap for me, especially as the years have gone by. Probably more than any other song it captures the moment for me. I was a classic suburban 'rebel' (without any cause!) early teenager who was at that time too wussy to be a real punk but felt this song was perfect in its message. Also demonstrates the band's talents in their entirety.
Still love I Don't Like Mondays but very rarely play it. Even then I remember feeling a bit sorry for the 3 guitarists and wondering if they maybe resented it a bit.
