Soundman gave me (unsolicited) a photocopy of the setlist at the end funnily enough. Not got it with me but from memory they played (not in order necessarily)

Will check later and add if any others. This is their fairly settled 'Rats' set by looks of it as it was same last time I saw them and it doesn't run to an encore. Not sure if anyone tried to request anything else?

Have got some photos which I'll also attach later, so you can see Garry's shirt.

I obviously did the meet and greet bit but left them to it as they set up. Did get the bonus of breakfast meet next day (BTR also there), but only because PB left his bass at the club, so that went home with me and returned next morning. Had a good chat over a fry up and all I can say is they are just regular guys with no pretensions (would never have played WFC if they had!). Oh, and if the opportunity to play in Dublin arises they'll take it...

Diamond Smiles is a recent addition to the set-list.

The order was a bit different from the printed set-list. PB changed it just before they went on.

They played in this order:

She Does it Right

These rock 'n' roll folk can get away with wearing anything- and long may it be that way. Maybe its growing old disgracefully but why not- its a case of "our music is loud and so are are trousers".

The set list is more or less what I would expect- slightly surprised that they played I Can Make It If You Can but I've always loved that song.

Would love to hear Real Different as it is perhaps my favourite Rats song. Of course you have to give the people what they want in terms of playing the more well known songs. Don't know how PB's voice compares to Geldof's but from brief clips on Youtube he seems to give a good account of himself and the songs.

I've come to respect the new Rats when originally the idea of no Geldof Fingers Cott or Briquette seemed like a slightly dubious idea. Something tells me in the back of my head that there will be a full reunion at some stage- even for a few gigs.

The old Irish Psyche folk group Horslips got together after years apart and could headline the
O2/Point Theatre in Dublin with legions of younger fans and older contemporaries.

Can BP move about like Bob? Come to think of it can Bob move about like Bob anymore!

He didn't move like Bob used to, but then stage was small - nowhere to move to.

There's always crowd surfing for PB to consider- but then on health and safety grounds maybe its inadvisable.

Sometimes I prefer singers to just sing- Geldof in the Rats playing a guitar would have hampered his style on stage, making him less mobile and expressive.

I like Echo And The Bunnymen a lot and Ian Mccullough has the same "problem" with his band.

He sent me a dvd as well and it plays really well.

Its nice to have a reminder as it was such a great evening.

I definately owe suss a few beers(Brentwood here we come).

I finally got around to watching the DVD last night (Chelsea were on ITV and I was waiting for the late night Champions League round-up) and what is striking is that in comparison to the Rats at their peak, which I was also watching, they sound fabulous.

There seemed to be a few sound issues on the DVD, and the titles of the songs not quite correct (e.g. Neon Hearts and Joey Is On The Street) but it didn't really spoil the enjoyment. Also the DVD case Suss sent handily holds 2 DVDs so the Rock Goes To College DVD is now paired with it.

How bad was sound problem? Got a couple of spare DVDs if you need a replacement. Can't do much about the titles though...bloke was a weddings cameraman to be fair to him - no idea how or where he found titles. Prob from what he heard on the night by looks of it!

Not bad, most noticable on Looking After No 1 on the wider shot when the sound was a bit distorted. I don't think it's my copy in particular. I'm amazed it sounds as good as it does. My recording of the 100 club gig was so distorted it couldn't be heard. I shouldn't grumble!
