I don't understand the You Bloo thing. Is is a Facebook/MySpace social networking thing as it seemed to launch as or a internet X factor?

I am wary of the ethos of it with the investors link in the top right corner seeking high net worth individuals. What exactly is Crowdfunding? Perhaps they should go on Dragon's Den.

Like Al Jolson in The Jazz Singer this is the first time I've ever heard Pete Briquette speaking so the link gives a little insight into his personality, which you said recently was 'cool'.

I've got no idea about YouBloom. I think its got an Irish artist angle and with such luminaries as Geldof, Briquette, Hines, and Grainge at least they have a semi credible take on the music scene- How they make money from it is not of great concert or interest to me.

The 'crow investment' thing is also beyond my ken. Anytime I start to read business speak I start to wonder what happened to the English language and why people can't just explain themselves honestly without all this 'value added product' nonsense and flowcharts.

Michael O Leary the Ryanair head despite all his faults is at least honest when he says ' **** our customers, I don't give a ****** about them'.

I always mixed him up with Rupert Holmes who did the Pino Colada song- both Ruperts and both 'novelty' songs. Rupert Hine does have a serious track record in the music biz and seems like a nice man judging from brief interviews.

Gosh! Back in 2004, they broadcast a show on BBC called Bob Geldof: Saint Or Sinner? where Pete spoke quite extensively. As it pre-dated this forum, it wasn't discussed on here, but most likely on its predecessor. I have it on DVD somewhere.

Would be nice if the BBC dragged it out of their archives for broadcast on 5th October along with The Rock Goes To College appearance. But a pound to a penny it'll be another Live Aid boreathon.

Bob Geldof Saint or Sinner? Missed that one, perhaps it will turn up on YouTube sometime. Wonder has Pete any scandal on Geldof? They should have interviewed Simon Crowe who might have went into more detail of Bob's alleged predeliction for getting the whip out! Geldof always liked to be in control. The could have used the Venus In Furs track by the Velvets as background music.

I doubt Geldof is so well in with the BBC that the do a tribute to him every year on his birthday but there are lots of tv channels nowadays so some of them may. Wonder if the BBC released Rock Goes To College of DVD would it be commercially worthwhile. I've seen it for sale on various music bootleg sites , but didn't take notice of how much they are asking for it. I would go and buy it straight away if it was on sale in HMV.

Not every year, but he is 60. He's in pretty well with a number of TV channels, especially the BBC. He did the Geldof in Africa series and had produced a number of shows for them. I doubt it would be worthwhile financially. Very few music DVDs, if any, turn much of a profit. Unlike a movie which can sell by the bucketload, music DVDs tend to just sell to hardcore fans and quickly go out of print. Recently I saw On A Night Like This on DVD for £1 at FOPP. And still didn't buy it as t is on the Someone's Looking DVD.

As for the bootleg, it is probably just audio and is widely available. Never seen the video bootleged. If anyone sees it, let me know where.
