Glad you're back; can't remember when you've been off air for as long. Been away?

I reckon you'll be lucky to find anyone admitting to the fantasy, but suspect there's a fair few that should. Confess I've never imagined fronting the band, but did more than once picture myself and a few mates being a band on the stage at our old school. Usually did this when sitting there with headphones on to favourite songs (sometimes Rats/sometimes others), and can even remember who played what and their stage positions. 

Haven't done this for years....honest!

Would have been memorable...for all the wrong reasons .

Was a time when I had my Geldof actions and mannerisms off to a tee in front of the mirror (i.e. mainly doing what he did at points on TOTP or in videos such as rubbing fingers and thumbs when getting himself a little easy money, or huddling into imaginary coat when buttoning against the cold). Problem is the amount of drinks it would take to get me doing that onstage would render any action/singing/speaking impossible.

Perhaps I should fantasise about fronting the Pogues instead .

I fantasise about my own band playing my songs and making records, but sadly never got beyond a couple of rehersals.

 Well there you go ... actually it's only 34 more days until Christmas Day.  My 12 year old is very helpfully giving me his own daily countdown - who needs an advent calendar!  So I could update everyone every day if you're all really bored and have nothing to talk about!

 Well Argeee as Alice had to tell herself when challenged with slaying the dragon one must think of 3 things that have happend that are/were impossible to enable her to believe that she could possibly slay the dragon.

so come on argeee, 3 impossible things that have happend, i can think of some:

1. internet revolution in just several years the fact that we have these things called laptops now, 1,000 years ago it would be deemed impossible.

2. that we have these things called satellites floating about in out of space.

3. that i am actually a medium and a psychic, FACT. whatever that means in that it might not be dead people talking to me but there is INDEED another dimension out there that one can connect to and here and see all sorts of weird stuff that can be verified as FACT by person having the reading.

SO ARGEEE maybe one day, in that case, i will sing with bob geldof.

I thought it was George who slayed the dragon, not Alice. Or more correctly George slew the dragon.

 Returning to the real world, momentarily at least, I was trying to deflect the embarrassment of admitting to having such fantasies. Was meant to be tongue firmly in cheek, so apologies if umbrage was taken. Feel free to edit.

Anyway, seems I needn't have worried as clearly everyone on here seems to have had some sort of fantasy along lines mentioned. Fair play to all those not embarrassed to admit.

 You must mean the film Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp. I like fantasy films and have yet to catch up on that one- I did see an old cartoon version of AIW, made as a movie possibly by Disney, dating from the sixties I think.

I saw the Johnny Depp version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Blu Ray and while it looked visually very good, found the film a bit dull.

Have you seen the Luc Bresson film Joan of Arc, in French language.

I did play at Highbury for an Arsenal team* just before it got demolished.    Walked through the Marble Halls, got changed in the dressing room, walked out the tunnel, had a shot just go over the bar and made a goal line clearance.  I tend to gloss over the moment I fell over over running back towards goal only to see the opposition take advantage of my John Terry-esque slip.  Even got presented with a medal by Charlie George , my hero, at the end. It was one of the greatest days in my life.

Sure is, I played it last night and bar a little background crackle, the record was superb.  The single mixes are generally tighter and superior.  Santa suss certainly delivers the goodies.  I'll have to give him the mince pie and glass of milk next time I see him.

 Can't believe you only rate the b side of House On Fire, Europe Looked Ugly as 2/10. Most people of this forum really like the song, considering it one of the Rats finest, and might ask why it wasn't included on V Deep?

The song is also lyrically brilliant, Geldof at his cynical best so I'm not sure what the problem is when most fans really rate this song, including me. I think it has all  the hallmarks of a Rats classic, but it is interesting how we all view songs differently.

 I had another listen to be sure I wasn't mistaken.  And I still don't care for it too much.   No problem with it per se, just a song I'm not too concerned about.  I don't have a dislike of it like Another Piece of Red or Charmed Lives, just indifferent to it.
