Just thinking as I surf around other websites, like www.myspace.com it is where I found out alot of performers who sign up and let fans get to know about them, and most do have there admin. run the sites, like another of my all time favorites Mr.Van Morrison, she gives us updates on tours and events he will be at, sample songs and pics, I was just wondering if this sites admin. would ever think of putting one up for Bob??? It is a free website and alot more fans of Bob's will be able to get together...YOU run it and can approve messages or not...Please do give it a go or at least a thought...myspace addy is www.myspace.com/nanetteg if you wanted to see what the site is about
Wow!! First of all, I hadn't seen the Hippy Angel video before, which was great, plus that's a pretty amazing collection of MEDIA there. Very nice! I also like Van Morrison and was a big fan of "Them" his first group doing that classic song "Gloria" G-L-O-R-I-A!
Thank you mate!!! I love the video still looking for more to add to my site I just love everything Bob does Going to fly over to Dublin to see him on the 6th Wonder if there will be a MySpace for Bob????? cheers

Not too much on it yet. And there probably won't be as I'm rather lazy. Someone has called themselves Bob Geldof, he's on my friends you'll see him if you look at mine. Nice picture of him.
You have a good idea; I was going to mention that you should check out one of my friends "Ben Orr Fans" which is a myspace page for fans of Benjamin Orr (one of The Cars lead singers) by one of his fans. [Ben passed away in Oct. 2000.] My friend started and administers it. She used to do a Yahoo Group, but has said the response on MySpace has been truly amazing.
Maybe an idea would be someone could run a fan site for Bob Geldof. Maybe a Bob Geldof Appreciation Club on MySpace...who's up for it. With MySpace there is a place for photos, songs, videos, and you can have a blog to tell of news about concerts. Just be sure to say the site is not officially affilated by Mr. Geldof and that would be cool.
If someone starts it, let me know & I'll add you as one of my friends. I'm fairly sure that the person who revamped my Profile on MySpace would probably want to join to. I've been directing her to the Boomtown Rats videos on YouTube, and she likes what she's heard so far.
peace & take care,
debm

Wel, I am always up for a challenge. I have started the Geldof Appreciation Society, or GAS for short. Quite appropriate isn't it. i don't know how this will do, or how long it will last. One question, Can I upload videos from the net? Not sure how. I welcome contributions of pictures, with owners permission, and details of all Geldof's appearances, music or otherwise. Concert and speaking crits and reports, also welcome. Can I reprint yours Katharina?
I did a search on Geldof and invited some who mentioned him (favourably of course) to be my friend. There are hundreds out there, if not thousands - I should have done this when I was doing the petition. Anyway, invite them to be your friends. We ought to set up a Geldof group as there isn't one or a Boomtown Rats one.
Well it says so when you click the link above, but when I accepted your request it was perfectly OK!! Maybe it's my computer, I had some strange messages saying I had technical problems a few times from Myspace.
I found Jules plug for the MySpace group, joined it and posted a bulletin too.
I figure we all know different people out there, and so it's a fun way to communicate.
I hope the MySpace things go well. I have been talking with some interesting folks out there.
peace & take care,

I'm pretty happy lately with MySpace because my other favorite, RicO, has two official pages over there - one for his former group The Cars and one for himself. They are both under the Music section.
As a side note, I'm rather shocked and amazed that I'm currently in Ric O's top 24 Friends. [I was the 24 person to add, am currently #20 and expect I will be off the Top list as more of the pretty fetish girls get added.] In case you are curious: www.myspace.com/ricocasek

I don't know how I got to be first choice either! Maybe there is a fan in the support team. Please check out the new layout. I did not have a choice of colours, but I think it looks a lot more professional. There is a choice of 3 Geldof layouts. I just did a google search of Bob Geldof myspace layouts. Follow the instructions and it is quite easy. You can have my one, loudmouth or a Rats one. Someone try a Boomtown rats layout search. They may be different.
Johnny Turnbull has his own myspace page. And the Blockheads have one too. Have sent a friends request and said not to laugh and that he probably sees enough of the ****** as it is.
The layout looks awesome. There are a lot of different companies that make free layouts for MySpace pages; I think your layout is by one of those companies. [Just make sure your computer is checked and all adware is taken off (because that's what most of those companies do is add adware to your computer).]
By the way, my profile was custom designed by one of my Yahoo/MySpace friends & she did it thru html. She's 17 and an immensely talented woman.
Peace & take care,

Well it was a bit of a hassle for me as that site played silly beggars with me. In the end I did a google search, which brought me back to that site and I found Loudmouth! It is red so it fits in with the Red banner and the red drums I have floating.
This link does not seem to work Jules, but when I clicked on your pic on myfriends page, it took me right there. It looks amazing, very eye catching. Red suits you. I did one of these personality tests as well and it was very accurate. I seem to be the polar opposite of you at times. I am a virgo.
Would like to see your results though and see how different they are from mine. I always seem to show up as an extrovert because I like being around people and get energy from others, but I'm actually quite shy. Maybe it's the Leo/Virgo mix - now they are polar opposites for sure!
We are only opposites in some areas not others. Well I wouldn't say opposites, but I seem a little less traditional than you in some areas .
It is interesting. Mine is pretty accurate, especially on the agreeable section. Although reliability is one of my strengths, so that isn't in the least bit accurate! I'm more organised that it says, but that hasn't come naturally to me, its been something I've had to learn so I can do my job. Being distracted is very true of me, for me sure.
I've posted mine on my myspace if anybody is interested at all.
I posted mine as a bulletin, so if you are one of my friends you can read it. [If I add stuff like that to my profile it messed up the other html code my friend worked so hard setting up. And I don't want just everyone to see how open minded I am.]
What I noticed after I posted it as a bulletin is that several of my friends did it too.
I think in looking at the more detailed report that mine seems fairly accurate too, altho I would never had thought I would score so high in creativity.

debm

Have you looked at hers too? She has Andy Warhol's flowers print as her background and everything's in white, black and red her favorite colors.
She has a link for her profile on mine (for proper credit).

I spotted that before and tried to add them as a friend, but I don't have that option. Steph has somehow managed it. I'll send her a message and see if she knows anything!
That is a really strange myspace page. It appears the biography stuff is taken from some website verbatim (which is one way to spot a fake celebrity profile).
I'm really not sure what to think of that CMA thing. Have you read any of the articles on the website. They do have posted several good interviews with Bob (that I had't read before).

There is a great guy on myspace, Ernie The southern Gothic, who is a huge Geldof fan and has seen him live in the States. Please add him as a friend. He has promised to join us here.
I've got Ernie as a friend. I gave a bit of a fright when I sent a friends request. He thought it was his ex-wife looking him up! I managed to convince him that I'm definitely not his ex-wife
Tango - I just tried to add your Adam Antesque page and it tells me that it is invalid or deleted.
Can I point you in the direction of a man with an amazing, unique voice. John Keenan sings blues, lounge, alternative, ballads and he makes the hairs on my neck stand up. I actually teach this guy's daughter. He writes for other people, but has just released an album and another on the way. Give him a go.
Talking about Blues singer extraordinaire, John Keenan, his second album is out, and is even bettter than the first. I was talking to him at parents night at school and for his first ever live gigs, he is singing witht he Sensational Alex Harvey band. Now, that is not a bad place to start, is it?
