Geldof always seems to get pretty lame support acts, especially for his own gigs. The 'band' that played as support at Islington were very lukewarm, a vague hint of the Beach Boys and I cannot even remember their name. Same with some of his other solo gigs, never a big name, or even a well known name. Strange that Geldof himself has a great knowledge of music, and lots of connections- but still never seems to have a good credible support act.

Most likely the Rats will get some lame Irish rock act to support them. You really need some act like Squeeze or Gary Numan or some of the credible new wave acts from back in the day, on a bill with the Rats headlining. But it's often down to who's available at a specific time, with bands doing their own tours.

Lame bordering on absolute rubbish, me thinks. I agree if they could team up with another band from back in the day they might find they have a greater appeal.

I don't know how tickets for Cork are selling. Whatever about Australia it would be really sad if they had to cancel the Irish gig. No news is good news at the moment! A few good reviews from the IOW might help sales a bit.

Still think a good new single might have stirred up a bit of interest.

A good new single which had AirPlay - otherwise it would be utterly pointless.

I've got no idea how Cork is selling, or Chagstock come to that. Fingers crossed.

Chagstock sells regardless. As for Cork, all the cheap seats have gone, but no idea on overall sales. Not sure Isle of Wight is selling well, seen a lot of advertising, but expect it to go ahead regardless.
