The Boomtown Rats are the first guests on the new run of the Late Late Show this Friday. The show should be available on the RTE PLAYER (RTE 1 TV) from Saturday. I don't know if it's doing a song or an interview.

Announced today; very brief, tune in at around 8 minutes http://www.rte.ie/radio/radioplayer/rteradioweb.html#!rii=9%3A20432358%3A82%3A04%2D09%2D2013%3A

Think The Strypes are on it as well. Didn't they say recently that they we big Rats fans?

Many thanks for the alerts and links gents. Just over 47 minutes in if people don't want to watch the earlier guests.

No problem.....and just 21 days left if people don't want to miss it at all.

Love the Kid Jensen clip with link into Rat Trap - 'Ireland's wayward sons'

Quite telling that Mondays barely got mentioned and they opted for No 1 as a live number. Obviously includes whole band for a start, also plays to Geldof's now oft repeated rationale of how relevant the songs remain, but for me there's the added element that they really want people to think beyond two songs only.

Wouldn't surprise me if that's the song of choice on any other appearances in tour run up, with the new single or any radio interviews/plugs.

Thanks for posting that link. Pretty good interview and great performance of Looking After No.1. It's great that all this sort of stuff is out there on the internet, if only it has been around back in 1977.

Good performance, and nice to choose a song other than the usual suspects. Bodes well for Vicar St. Bob could have moved about a bit more, not sure why he had to stand like a statue for half the song.

That was a nice insightful piece. Very interesting to see the Rats in rehearsal and Bob 'directing' Darren.
