 Standing capacity of the RH is 3,300 according to their own website. It would be fun to resurrect some of those old threads when we dared not dream of the Rats ever reforming,and selling out proper venues.

I remember saying 'if you build it he will come', the line from Field Of Dreams when the young kid talks about building a baseball track that attracts Shoeless Joe Jackson. It sort of means you have to thrust you gut feeling or instinct. What I hoped is if the Rats did reform then there would be a market for them, but they had to take that chance. 

So glad that things seem to be working out( down on the Rats farm)

A world of difference selling out Saturday night as opposed to Sunday night. They have sold out Vicar Street on Saturday, but there appear to be plenty of tickets available for the Sunday.

I suspect they did have an option for a second date based on demand, which though it would be healthy,  doesn't neccessarily mean they would get a large enough audience to justify it. 

It would be great if they did a second night and the tour itinerary would allow it, but I suspect it won't happen.    Perhaps they will announce some additional dates when the tour ends.

When I think back to the Bradbury Rats playing Whelan's in Dublin back in December, I thought that was as good as it would ever get....

....shows what I know.

The interesting this is this tour, aside from TV appearances, hasn't been promoted much.  Some small ads in Q and other magazines, but little else.  And they are selling out big venues in their own right.  Cork as near as dammit, Dublin and now London.  I assume the other dates are shifting as well.

They are due to play in Bristol on Monday 28 Oct so I doubt they would be in a position to just announce another  Roundhouse date. And in their early sixtes It's a lot harder than being in their twenties, though the  wisdom of age might mean they are 'fitter' and more together in some senses than when they were young tearaways.

For the most part the tour is two nights on one night off, so I guess it is unlikely they will have a Sunday date followed by trips to Bristol and Nottingham. 

Historically, tours used to end in London, so bands could keep adding nights to satisfy demand. 

Weller did this last year and ended up doing five nights in a row.  Elvis Costello added a third night at the Albert Hall back in June, but at that point, the demand had tailed off and only the floor and the stalls were occupied on the final night.

 And to think that Simon and Garry had a gig lined up at the Irish Centre in Corby.Brings to mind the old song lines: 'It's a mighty long way down rock and roll/ from the Liverpool docks to the Hollywood Bowl...' (Mott the Hoople)

I haven't seen any street posters up advertising the Dublin gigs, though that doesn't mean there are none. Again there was one ad on RTE Radio One about the time the tickets first went on sale. It seems the gigs have sold without much work from the promo people.

I presume social media is a factor in that if someone sees the Rats are playing the can pass on the word to friends without a 'top down' ad campaign.

I think Chagstock was as good as Cork. The audience was fantastic, and they were largely a true rock audience rather than getting the feeling that they could have been watching any band. Chagstock was a sell out too.

Yes, but not just because of the Rats.  Isle of Wight probably sold around 100,000 tickets but I suppose some people bought them for the other acts.

No disrespect to Scotland or the Scots but ending the tour in Aberdeen, preceded by Dundee might be a bit anti climactic. They'll have done all the big cities by then ,but on the other hand seeing as it's the last gig Aberdeen might just be the place to be.

It's like the tour has been planned backwards, starting in Dublin then going via all the major cities and ending at Doncaster, Dundee and Aberdeen.  Will be a long trip home at the end.

 Surprised website isn't carrying this major news. Not only saves people clicking on links to find out hard way, but also (hopefully) encourages a few who might be wavering on other venues to take the plunge.

 Was showing up to 3 available, so probably more or less sold out.

There are a few here for less than £10 each.  There is a high shipping cost of  £10, but still cheaper than face value
