I decided after how good the 2 concerts were at the weekend were I just couldn't miss this. Doing a course at the minute so rang and asked for Friday off and got it, my tutors know music is my priority wink! All booked now. Will definitely have to sing happy birthday to Alan smile

Here we go. Boomtown day for good old Belfast. After last playing here in feb of 1985 the rats are back. Never in a million years would I think this would ever happen again Happy days. To all who will be at the gig enjoy. And to the one's that have never seen them play live B4. You are in for one hell of a night.

 All Geldof is saying is 'give peace a chance'. Not sure if these 'loyalists' are just targeting Bob because he is from the South.

Funny thing is Geldof was always a big critic of the IRA when the were on their murder campaigns in the seventies and eighties.Doubtless he would be against the loyalist paramilitaries too. Banana Republic is partly against the glorification of political violence.

What has Geldof got to do with the Loyalist flag issue? A lot of Geldof's media money was invested in companies in Northern Ireland - he is not out to get loyalism, as he has never expressed any strong or otherwise Irish republican views.

 Yes well said Noel. Missed that post til now. Some people just need to be giving out and sometimes they don't even know what they are giving out about. I read all that interview online earlier and he didn't say anything that bad to justify this reaction, in my opinion.

 There's a great song by Magazine called Shot By Both Sides. Seems in the North of Ireland that happens to a lot of people.

Went to Morrisons and no Rats fans there that I could see or empty tables so came back to Park Inn for a feed and will call in again after.

It started on twitter, had some thrown in my direction. I think he will get a huge welcome tonight, Hope so. Anyone who read "Is That it"  knows he detests the IRA too. It got them publicity which is what they want. One of the pages has been taken down. Still some idiots sympathising though. But he has got a lot of support too on twitter.

Concert was amazing last night and they got a great reception. The crowd reaction especially during Mondays was brilliant. The set list was shorter by two songs, no Having My Picture Taken or Howard Huges, other than that identical to the Sunday Vicar Street show set list wise.

Saw a tweet saying how amazing they were, someone hopes to be in as good as shape as Bob is when they are in their 60s. I wish I was now, in my late 40s lol.

Rats played to a full house last night And I have to say Bob is much better at being a rat than a solo Bang on form and not with mary. regarding Morrisons lots of rat fans in here just that they do not have any rats teeshirts on all headed over to the hall around 7.30P1100626.JPG

Hi manatthetop saw you in the pub but wasn't sure if it was you and I was only there for one drink before heading over to the Hall to be guaranteed my front row centre position. 
The Belfast Telegraph has a review of the concert which is ok, better than last weeks and then a page long article "analysing" Bob. Hard to decide whether I think it is positive or negative. They seem to be suggesting he has double standards. That paper was here in the hotel so will take a trip to a shop and see if there are any other reviews.

Sorry I missed you. Where you sitting with that tall guy from England I went over and was talking with him (Suss) Was with my two son's Lot of people in that bar were going to the gig as well. Through it was a great nite Got the live cd and my son's got me one of the Tshirts.

 

Mybe meet up another time Hopefully when the rats go on the road with an new album

 Yes that was me with Suss, that tall guy from England biggrin I left early as I like to be at the front for the concerts. Yes fingers crossed for a new album and another tour smile
