...much like the Rats back-catalogue, it appears that this other great neglected group of the late seventies/early eighties is having their back catalogue re-released on Universal in the next month or two.
Sure, you could go and waste your hard earned ca$h on the simultaneously re-released Jam back catalogue and listen to a load of derivative drivel from a surburban boy who was driven from gig to gig in his daddy's Volvo.
Alternatively you could sample the delights of the best songwriting duo ever (Difford/Tilbrook), who are PROPER Londoners, and are the true heirs of Ray Davies in documenting London life. Add to this the majesty of Glenn Tilbrook's guitar and Jools Holland's tinkling ivories and you have a group who would be worthy receipients of an outstanding contibution to music award.
Is this the same Jools Holland as Paula Yates' co-presenter of The Tube?
Sure is! Originally the pianist for Squeeze, he left them to form His Millionaires (saw them supporting the Police) who played boogie-woogie, R&B and jazz (which he still plays on his later show on the BBC).
Possibly the best connected person in Rock 'n' Roll, friend to pretty much every star of screen and stage in the UK to boot!
