My ranking for 2015 gigs, essentially the top 9 were all superb in their own way, whereas the last two were memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Royal Blood Koko - A short but absolutely stunning set filling the tiny Koko with a massive stadium set.
FFS Troxy - FFS + the best of Franz + the best of Sparks, three great bands in one
Damned - Islington O2 Academy - Pretty much the Damned greatest hits all topped off with an a cappella Happy Talk from The Captain
Julian Cope - Village Underground - Just Julian and a guitar, some great new songs, great stories and he even played Treason!
Suede - Roundhouse - Two gigs in one. Played new album behind screen in first half before returning with a storming hits and rarities set.
The Who - O2 - Fortunately got a seat in the front block of the O2 so I could see the wrinkles. Wonderful set with Baba O'Reilly and Won't Get Fooled Again topping it all off.
Boomtown RatsOlympia - The Rats doing what they do best, but surely it is time to vary the set.
Royal Blood - Brixton - The big headline gig lapped up by an enthusiastic audience.
U2 - O2 - Brilliant show, if bands have to play arenas, this is the way to do it.
Charlatans - Brooklyn Bowl - An OK gig, but somewhat surreal as it was in a bowling alley
The Who/Paul Weller/Johnny Marr/Kaiser Chiefs/Gaz Coombes - Hyde Park - May have been good had I not been half a mile from the stage thanks to a sodding Golden Circle. I'd have been better off just waiting for the DVD.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Royal Albert Hall - An audience as horrible as The Libertines last year. Heard fcuk all with people shouting in my ear and turning to sing at me. Saw fcuk all with all the iPhones with one tosser taking the biscuit facetimeing his mate.
Saw Tom Robinson a fair few times this year in various guises, his full band album launch show at the Queen Elizabeth Hall was probably my gig of the year, followed closely behind by the Rats and Goldblade at Rebellion. Both the Blockheads and the Damned this past weekend well up there, and The Ruts at the Jazz Cafe surprised me with how good they were.
PiL and the Mountain Goats both cases of good music but dull London crowds, unfortunately.
Bl00dy hell! You are as bad as Geldof. IMHO it's the day trippers from out of town that ruin it with their rucksacks, deck chairs and thermos flasks! They are easy to spot with the knotted hankys.
There was a woman at The Mountain Goats carrying a massive camping rucksack and two Harrods bags get a grip. Come to think of it, both of them were are Shepherd's Bush Empire, nice venue but maybe it attracts them!
That and the hacks and bloggers, they're my faves!

Ah, west London, there's the problem. I go no further west than Camden if I can help it, but my two crap gigs this year were also in the west (Albert Hall & Hyde Park). All the rest were north (Hackney/Islington/Camden) , east (Tower Hamlets) or south (Lambeth/Greenwich).
Bit concerned now about The Damned at The Albert Hall next summer. Elvis Costello at the Palladium should be OK.
Yep, the red part certainly does, but don't go up the Seven Sisters Road towards the North Circular Road, for danger lurks there...
Last night I had a little altercation They wobbled menacingly Beneath the yellow street light it became a situation Well, they wanted my brand-new phone with all the pictures of the kids and the wife A struggle ensued and then fat children took my life Well, some passers-by took me to the station The police force was elsewhere - putting bullets in some guy's head for no particular reason So I died in the back of the cab but I'll be back to haunt them This thing does not end here: My spirit walks the streets of Tottenham

There's even the possibility of a certain football team from N London winning the Premiership this year. It's either them or Man City. Can't see any other contenders.

No? Not even plucky little Arsenal ?
Unless The Gunners pop their balloon on Sunday, no one is gonna catch Leicester. If they win at the weekend, they could be seven clear of the field with 12 to go. Foinavon at 100/1, pah! The Foxes were 5000/1 ante post. They would be the bigger outsider ever to win anything.
