Steve Coogan is a noted motoring enthusiast who has owned a succession of cars including Ferraris, Mazdas, Range Rovers and Porsches. He escaped a driving ban after saying he was unable to remember who had been driving when his car was allegedly clocked speeding in Hove
Dear Steve - I suggest you not only drive slower to save fuel, and avoid points on your licence, you also get a greener car like Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.0 EcoBoost (100PS) instead of a Porsche. Also you should accept your driving ban rather than avoiding it by claiming it would cause hardship for people working on the new Alan Partridge series. Maybe you could have stood and walked in full support of your cause.

Benedict Cumberbatch, brand ambassador for MG in India, one of the most polluted countries in the world appears in an ad showI gotta him in the MG GS, with a 1.5 turbocharged petrol engine, zooming around...Trafalgar Square. He then drives across a clear Westminster Bridge and past the Houses of Parliament. Cumberbatch also fronts a campaign for MG Indias Hector SUV.
More than a million people died in India from air pollution in 2017 one in eight of all deaths there.
Cumberbatch previously starred in Jaguar adverts with the tag line: Its good to be bad. He also knocked over a cyclist with his Lamborghini!
Dear Benny - Suggest that rather than being a greedy money grabbing public schoolboy you immediately renounce your brand ambassadorship and instead spend the money you were given for the ads to encourage Indians to use less polluting forms of transport. And replace the Lamborghini with a more economical car which would help with your observation.

Dear Mel - Embrace the opportunity to not use your gas guzzling status symbol and walk your sprogs to school every day. Who knows, the fresh air might improve their minds. This could result in them being able to spell better than their mother.
What about the absurd show-off activist Greta Thunberg who boasted that she would attend a UN climate summit by taking a carbon-neutral yacht across the Atlantic. The yacht was her (pushy parents) vehicle of choice because of the carbon emissions caused by planes - she has been shaming people to fly less to save the environment. But here's the issue: as the crew leave and people come to pick up the boat (both via air), the voyage will end up creating more emissions than a simple flight would have done anyway. The gesture is nauseating but designed to seem all eco and wonderful - however Thunberg's choice damages the environment more.
