A friend of mine told me that Bob was on R2 this Saturday, he turned over and didn't bother to phone me and let me know

He said that he was talking about a book he was bringing out, I couldn't imagine another book and enquired whether it was Geldof in Africa. My friend was very vague about the whole thing, but I looked on the website and found this:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/parkinson. You can listen again thankfully. Did anyone catch it?

Maybe he will talk about that book at this year's Hay Festival.

According to the BBC website, it was Sunday's show and "Geldof in Africa."

I was told he referred to Jeanne as his wife. Have we missed something?

Bob refers to Jeanne as his 'missus' doesn't mean we've missed anything - just a figure of speech.

Go ahead and listen again, it's still up there. I'm listening as I write.

The first bit is rather boring, especially listening to Sunday's news and what was in the papers on Wednesday! Didn't care much for the music, then Parky begins with his and Bob's varying taste in music and Bob comments that yes judging by the music on the programme it is rather diverse! And wouldn't you know it Parky plays Sunday Afternoon - but not the Geldof of version and no sight nor sound of anything Geldof.

The programme is a bit odd as it discusses Geldof in Africa, which has been out for about year now and they talk as though it is new He talks about his love of Africa and about his hopes for Africa and his thoughts on how Africa developed etc.

It seemed to cut out at one point and I thought that was it, but afraid of having to listen to the entire programme again I just waited and after several seconds it returned...
