Can any German speakers translate this? I will put the babelfish translation up if nobody volunteers. I like the reference to "Bob Lovepump" I know it ends "hats off Sir Bob, so I think it must be quite positive.

Hello,

give me a little bit of time.... I will translate it this week-end.

And he was really great !! I saw him live, standing directly in front of him in the first row. He was fantastic and charismatic like he always is !! And imagine: when I walked through Heilbronn, I met Vince (Lovepump) in a store and spoke to him ! He was really friendly and nice and informed be that Bob has flown this day from New Zealand direct to the festival.

have a bit patience: I will upload a few fotos I have made . Unfortunately there was no time to catch an autograph from Bob, as he escaped very quickly after the show. (Perhaps too much after this long flight from Nea Zealand)

But he was great ..........!!!!

Regards Petra

I translated it (with a lot of help from my dictionary ). The author writes a bit strange but all in all the review is very positive:

Bob Geldof and band: the good conscience of pop music

Because of his dedication for band aid and live aid he’s a character of contemporary history, he has written rock history with the Boomtown Rats, acted in Pink Floyds music movie “The Wall”, was ennobled by the Queen, nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and has gone through great personal crises. With Bob Geldof, the tireless fighter for african concerns, for debt release and against aids a world-famous star conquers Gaffenberg and its audience.

Overlong speeches don’t matter to the 52 years old good conscience of pop music. No, Sir Bob, accompanied by a number of old companions, opened immediately a highly energetic rock show, oscillating between celtic folk influences with fiddle and squeezebox, hard rock riffs and the noble punk of the Boomtown Rats. The reggae influence in “Scream In Vain” is as well received as “Banana Republic” and the biggest Rats hit, “I Don’t Like Mondays”. A song recounting the 1979 school massacre in San Diego, committed by a 16-year-old stating she didn’t like Mondays.

The pale, lanky man in a suit shapes charisma and pleasure of performing which the enthusiastic audience can’t resist. From time to time Geldof raises almost dadaistic appearing tones from his throat, praises the “fantastic german summer” and also demands german responsibility for Africa.

Bob Loveday (introduced by Bob as “Lovepump”) ennobles the classics with furioso violin sounds. It is worth seeing how this massive, longhaired man in white is conducting his bow while smoking like a chimney. The objection Live Aid might be a chain to Geldof’s own musical career isn’t working on this evening. Hats off, Sir Bob.

(Caption: From the first song on world-famous star Bob Geldof has the audience on his side. Nobody keeps seated during this good paced rock show.)
